Birthday of a quad maniac-Egy quadmániás születésnapja

I made this pillow for the special person who is really into quads and I am really into him. :)

The graphic design of the quad was originally a cupcake topper that caught my eye on Etsy. Considering the birthday gift alternatives I was thinking of recently, I found myself staring at this simple, yet great way of depicting a quad and realized that this is it, this is the secret ingredient I was searching for.

The birthday package included a practical Hungarian Language Course book with CDs, two second-hand books from Erich von Daniken quenching our current thirst for Ancient Alien theories and this gray handmade pillow.

I wasn't sure I would succeed with sewing the fine lines of felt on the linen and just generally being able to sew the felt on without creasing the fabric, but to my greatest surprise I managed it allright, without severe injuries.

Stu received a home-made Nutella tart I baked based on the recipe of one of my favourite gastrobloggers Lila Füge and the above listed prescious items. He was all smiles and I so were I seeing him being so happy. :)

Ezt a párnát egy olyan embernek készítettem, aki odavan a quadért, én meg érte vagyok oda. :)

Eredetileg egy muffinba szúrható quados pálcikán akadt meg a szemem az Etsy-n. Végiggondolva az utóbbi időben szóba jövő születésnapi ajándék alternatívákat, egyszercsak azon kaptam magam, hogy ezt az egyszerűen és nagyszerűen ábrázolt quadot bámulom, és hogy rájövök: ez az a titkos hozzávaló, amit kerestem.

A szülinapi csomag tartalma a következő volt: egy nagyon praktikus magyar nyelv oktatócsomag CD-vel, két használt könyv Erich von Danikentől, mely kielégíti jelenlegi Ősi idegenek teóriákra vonatkozó igényeinket és még ez a párna.

Nem voltam biztos abban, hogy rá tudom varrni a finom filc vonalakat a lenre vagy egyáltalán gyűrődés nélkül rá tudom varrni az anyagra, de legagyobb meglepetésemre súlyos sérülések nélkül egész szépen sikerült.

Stu kapott egy házilag készített Nutella tortát, amit az egyik kedvenc gasztrobloggerem Lila Füge receptje alapján sütöttem és a fent említett értékes tárgyakat. Fülig ért a szája és nekem is, mert láttam, hogy mennyire boldog. :)

Dandelions - Pitypangok

Hello, it's been a while...
I have been working on the new range, the pillows with dandelion decoration. Originally there were more motifs on them, but I felt them to exaggerated, so this new development might look a bit more balanced, even if the spot of the flowers is random.

Az új sorozaton dolgoztam/dolgozom, a pitypangokkal díszített párnákon. Eredetileg több motívum volt rajta, de azt túlzásnak tartottam és az új fejlesztés talán kiegyensúlyozottabb kinézetű lett így, még ha véletlenszerű is a virágok elhelyezése.

New wave - Új hullám

I would like to introduce the newest tuliManna design which was inspired by my love for dandelions and the sea. I made this pillow for my best friend, Virág (by way means flower) who just bought an apartment and I thought a personal gift would add a nice touch to their home and remind her of our friendship lasting more than twenty years now.
I plan to use this graphic design on some of my new pillows, with different pillow and feltball colours, so keep your eye on the screen and your finger on the mouse! :)

Szeretném bemutatni a legújabb tuliManna designt, amit a pitypang és a tenger iránti szerelmem ihletett. Ezt a párnát a legjobb barátnőmnek, Virágnak készítettem, aki nemrég vett egy lakást és úgy gondoltam, hogy ez a személyes ajándék amellett, hogy díszíti majd otthonukat, emlékezteti majd őt húsz éve tartó barátságunkra.
Tervezem, hogy az új grafikai designt használom majd néhány új párnámon is, különböző párna- és filcbogyó színekkel, ezért szemetek a pályán, ujjatok az egéren! :)

Obsessed: Baileys-banana icecream - Megszállottság: Baileys-banán fagyi

I had a few terrible weeks as our home got a new make-up, walls and doors got painted, bathroom sinks changed and most of the process was conducted by me causing 2-3 nervous breakdowns daily. I would love to return to my pillows, but first I need some energy and a moodlift.
I don`t have an icecream maker, so I always read mouthwatering icecream recipes with envy, well, until a few days ago. I`ve found a promising and fabulously simple recipe in a magazine and in spite of the terrible weather I couldn`t wait any longer, so here are the results of the slightly altered method of making heavenly icecream...
Unfortunately this post is without picture, as I guess emptied icecream bowls would not make this recipe any more seductive for you ;)

Ingredients for 2 lucky people:
4 bananas
5 cl Baileys (massive alcoholists ;) can put more in it or try it with some almond liquour too)
3 cl milk or double cream (yes, only!)
topping alternatives: whipped cream, nut brittles, caramel sauce, chocolate shavings, shortbread biscuits, chocolate sauce and so on...

Put the peeled bananas (each broken into 3-4 pieces) in the freezer for couple hours. It is worth using a tray, so the plastic bag doesn`t get stuck in the banana. I left them there for 2 days and they got rock hard.
When the bananas are frozen, put them in a deep dish, pour the Baileys and the milk/double cream on it and break it up with a hand blender til it is evenly smooth.
You can serve it with a dollop of whipped cream, with some chocolate shavings or some nuts brittle, caramel sauce or some butter biscuits.
This recipe is really for anybody who loves banana as it can be superhealty, superlight and anti-alcoholist (low calory and still delicious if you mix it only with light milk) or a superluscious, superhedonist sin bomb (Baileys, double cream, added sugar for the really sweet toothed ones, not mentioning that with the toppings it might cause an instant heart attack).

Pár szörnyű héten vagyok túl, mivel kicsit feltuningolódott a lakásunk: falfestést, ajtómázolást, szanitercseréket vezényeltem le, napi 2-3 idegösszeroppanással. Nagyon szeretnék visszatérni a párnáimhoz, de először kell egy kis energia és hangulatfokozó.
Nincs fagyigépem, ezért mindig irigykedve olvastam a guszta fagyirecepteket, de csak mostanáig. Néhány napja egy ígéretes és mesésen egyszerű receptet találtam és nem bírtam tovább várni, a förtelmes, borult idő ellenére, itt az eredmény: a mennyei fagyikészítés menete, enyhén változtatott formában...
Sajnos most kép nélkül, mivel gondolom a receptet nem tenné ennél vonzóbbá a kiürült fagyis tálkák fotója. ;)

Hozzávalók 2 szerencsés személyre:
4 banán
5 cl Baileys (idült alkoholisták ;) tehetnek bele többet is vagy kipróbálhatják mandulalikőrrel)
3 cl tej vagy tejszín (igen, csak ennyi!)
Feltét lehetőségek: tejszínhab, grillázs, karamellszósz, csokiforgács, omlós vajas keksz, csokiszósz, stb.

Tedd a meghámozott banánokat (banánonként 3-4 darabra törve) két órára a fagyasztóba. Érdemes tálcát használni, mert akkor a műanyagzacskó nem ragad bele a banánba. Én két napra hagytam őket bent és kőkeményre fagytak.
Ha megdermedtek, tedd őket egy mély edénybe, öntsd rá a Baileyst és a tejet/tejszínt, majd kezdd el összetörni egy botmixerrel. Teljesen simára kell dolgozni.
Díszítheted egy kis tejszínhabbal, csokiforgáccsal, grillázzsal, karamellszósszal vagy akár omlós vajas keksszel is.
Ezt a receptet tényleg minden banánimádó használhatja. Lehet szuperegészséges és antialkoholista (alacsony kalóriájú, mégis finom, ha csak light tejjel keverjük össze a banánt), de szuperbuja és élvhajhász bűnbomba is (Baileys, tejszín és igazán édesszájúaknak még hozzáadott cukor is, sőt a feltétekkel tuti azonnali szívinfarktus).

Flashmob and rhubarbs - Flashmob és rebarbara

After yesterday`s excitement, I should really take it easy and hope for the best, that the package I sent with my first sale ever in it will not be lost/damaged/confiscated/thrown into a biohazard bag and then blown up/torn into pieces by mad dogs/burnt to ashes in a planecrash and the new owner of it will love it too... Perhaps I ask too much?
Anyway, it is sent now, I cannot stop the strict process of shipping, though I would rather just retreive it and ship it in my own hands to New York, straight to the door of the customer, oh, what a special service I could provide... The new tuliManna pillowcase could be presented on a huge purple velvet pillow with rich tassles on it. I would ring the doorbell while a small band behind me would play a victorious piece and behind the band a mass of cheerful people would clap and smile and throw rice (oh, maybe I mixed up the occassions?), maybe colourful felt balls could be more appropriate on the customer when she/he opens the door. I would thank her/him very much for the order and hand over the new pillow in the bright sunshine while she/he would smile happily in the bright sunshine and after she/he would return to the apartment to check how the pillow looks on the sofa/bed/armchair/floor/dogbed/cooker. Meanwhile the crowd would stop acting and would start to dissolve contently with a healthy rumble but showing nothing on their faces like after a successful flashmob.
Then, I suddenly realize the rumble is real, it is my tummy, so I switch daydream to another sweet one, which is about this panna cotta from GoodLife Eats Etc., with spring`s delicious gifts, rhubarb and strawberry and panna and cotta and a big spoon. :) Enjoy!

A tegnapi izgalmak után tényleg le kellene nyugodnom kicsit, remélve, hogy a postázott csomagom, amiben életem első eladása lapul nem fog elveszni, megsérülni, nem kobozzák el, nem dobják ÉLETVESZÉLY! zacskóba és robbantják fel utána, nem tépik szét őrült kutyák és nem ég hamuvá egy repülőszerencsétlenségben és még az új tulajdonosa is imádni fogja...Talán túl sokat kérek?

Mindegy, már elküldtem, nem állíthatom meg a szállítás szigorú folyamatát, habár legszívesebben visszaszerezném a postától a csomagot és saját kezűleg kézbesíteném, egyenesen az új tulajdonos new york-i ajtajáig, óóó, mily különleges szolgáltatást tudnék nyújtani... Az új tuliManna párnahuzat egy nagy bordó, bojtos bársonypárnán lenne prezentálva. Miközben becsengetnék, mögöttem egy kis zenekar valami győzedelmes darabot játszana és zenekar mögött egy vidám tömeg tapsolna, mosolyogna és rizst dobálna (jaj, keverem a szezont a fazonnal?) vagy inkább stilszerűen filcgombócokat az épp ajtót nyitó vásárlómra. Megköszönném neki a rendelést és vakító napfényben átadnám a párnát, ő a vakító napfényben boldogan mosolyogna, majd visszatérne otthonába, hogy megnézze hogy fest az új párna az ülőgarnitúrán, ágyon, fotelban, földön, kutyaágyon, gáztűzhelyen. Eközben a tömeg abbahagyná a színjátékot és egészséges morajjal, elégedetten kezdene feloszlani, de semmitmondó arckifejezéssel, mint egy jólsikerült flashmob után.

Aztán hirtelen rájövök, hogy a moraj valódi: korog a gyomrom, így álmodozásból álmodozásba esek, a következő ábránd ez a panna cotta a GoodLife Eats Etc.-től, a tavasz finom ajándékaival, rebarbarával és eperrel és pannával és cottával, meg egy nagy kanállal. :) Jó étvágyat!

Bye Braille - Viszlát Braille!

Good news: I just have had my very first sale today!

I checked my phone this morning and what do I see??? An order straight from the big, mighty, giant, fashionable, unbeatable NYC! I was all smiles and we have even been dancing a short one in the kitchen with my love to celebrate it.

By now I have prepared the package to go to the post office. I couldn`t help but make all kinds of small labels for the little Braille pillow. 

My pillows are made with love and special care, so why not add some more passion to them through fonts too (I admit that I know that I went excessive). I hope it arrives safe and the owner will love it. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed please. Please. :)

Jó hír: ma megtörtént az első eladásom!

Reggel megnéztem a telefonom és mit látok, na miiiit?! Egy rendelés, egyenesen a nagy méltóságos, hatalmas, divatos, felülmúlhatatlan New York-ból! Egész nap vigyorogtam és Stewarttal még táncoltunk is egy rövidet a konyhában, ünneplésképpen.
Mostanra felkészítettem a csomagot a postázásra. Sajnos nem bírtam magammal és a kis Braille párnához mindenféle címkéket készítettem.

A párnáim szeretettel és nagy odafigyeléssel készülnek, így miért ne adnék hozzá még több szenvedélyt betűtípusokkal is?! (Beismerem, hogy tudom, hogy túlzásba estem.) Remélem rendben megérkezik és a tulajdonos is szeretni fogja. Szorítok, szorítsatok Ti is légyszi. Légyszi! :)
